“American Idol” Top Finalist to Perform in LB

Councilman Dee Andrews is proud to announce that “American Idol” Top Finalist and Long Beach resident, Clint Gamboa,  will be singing the National Anthem at the Chittick Field Opening Ceremony, 11:00 am, this Wednesday, April 23rd, located at 1900 Walnut Avenue, Long Beach, CA

Clint Gamboa aka “JuN” was born and raised in Long Beach California. At his performance on American Idol he coined the phrase “Strong Beach”, in support of his community upbringing. Being raised in two different cultures gave him a rich background and a wide range of experiences.

Clint was a cast member of the off Broadway gospel musical "Tell Hell I Ain't Coming". He also had a cameo in a gospel play entitled "A Man That Finds A Wife Finds A Good Thing”. In recent years, Clint became the first 3 time Crème' De La Crème' singing competition Champ at the annual L.A. County Fair. He has also co-written & recorded songs for the film "The Room."

His talent was recognized in much broader way, when he made it onto the 10th season of “American Idol”.  His powerful, soulful voice took the judges and audience alike by surprise and propelled him all the way to the top finalists.
